The annual MVNOs World Congress is taking place in Madrid this year. MOHAnet is also going to participate it so we asked a few questions from Patrick Connolly, our Foreign Trade Manager. In this section he talked about his experiences of the past MVNOs Europe Congress and his insights and plans for this upcoming event before he leave.

What is the MVNOs Conference about?
P.C.: The MVNOs World Congress is a dedicated event for the telco market bringing together MVNO, eSIM, IoT and Wholesale companies.
How is the event taking place? What is the schedule?
PC.: It is a 4-day event at the Madrid Marriott Auditorium Hotel & Conference Center. There will be presentations and brainstorming sessions on innovation in the MVNO market and IoT, as well as speed networking sessions and 1-to-1 meetings.
How do you prepare for the event?
P.C.: At the moment, we are finalising everything for the event. Scheduling meetings, arranging delivery of all our materials for the conference, and of course, double-checking we’ve got flights and a place to stay when we get there!
Who is going with you? What are the necessary things you have to bring to the event?
P.C.: My colleague, Orsolya Szaplonczay, will be going as well. We’ve worked together at multiple conferences over the last year, and hope this will be another successful trip! There are a few things that have to be brought to this event, including large pop-up displays and marketing materials, so it’s quite a logistical task!
You were at MVNOs Europe last fall. What were the experiences and how is this event going to be different?
P.C.: Yes, I attended MVNOs Europe last November in London. It was a great event, very well run and we made many useful connections. This time, I’m hoping for more of the same, but this will be a much larger event, consisting of companies from over 80 countries all over the world.
What workshops will you attend?
P.C.: I’m hoping to attend some talks on MVNOs and IoT, as well as the development of blockchain in the telco industry.
Why should someone visit these kinds of events?
P.C.:These events are really good for meeting key players in the MVNO industry, and learning about innovations and new developments first-hand.
Will you have time for a little sightseeing?
P.C.: Hopefully! It’ll be my first time in Madrid, so I’d like to explore a bit…..and, of course, try and find somewhere to watch Real Madrid in the Champions League semi final!
We wish Patrick a pleasant journey, and are looking forward to hearing from him to share his experiences about the event. If you don’t want to miss out on, check the official MVNO site or follow us on Facebook!
